Reference Photo
To create a beautiful portrait of your pet, it's important to start with a selection of high-quality photos. Choose your favorite images that capture your pet's personality through their facial expressions and positions. While one good quality photo is sufficient, having multiple photos can provide a better understanding of your pet's character.
Photos taken in natural lighting work best—try taking photos near a window or outdoors without direct sunlight. Clear visibility of your pet's eyes is essential, so ensure they're well-lit and in focus. A handy tip is to hold a treat above the camera to keep their attention focused.
I typically use one main photo as a reference for painting, but additional images in various lights and poses can help. I love learning about your pet's personality and stories, as they greatly influence the portrait's portrayal.
If you're unsure about the suitability of your photos, feel free to email me a selection for advice. I can provide guidance on capturing better photos and assess if they're suitable for painting.
I understand that some beloved pets are no longer with us, but I will do my best to work with the photographs you have.

Packaging and Shipping
To ensure your painting arrives safely, I take several careful steps. Firstly, I mat your piece in an acid-free mat with a mat backing or cardboard backing. I then place in a plastic sleeve. If you'd like to include a gift message, just let me know, and I'll make sure to include it at this stage. The painting is then placed in a sturdy rigid mailer for transit.
Shipping in the US is already included in the price of your portrait. For international shipping, there's an additional charge. Rest assured, all deliveries are sent tracked to ensure safe receipt. If you have any further questions or special requests, feel free to reach out.
